The pressures of tech culture
I work with engineers, product people, founders, and leaders in the Bay Area. Many of my clients are high-achieving and thoughtful, yet struggling with burnout, anxiety, imposter syndrome, or a sense of being stuck despite doing everything "right." The pressures of tech culture, including a relentless pace, layoffs, and an environment where your worth can start to feel tied to your output, often show up in therapy as a harsh inner critic, a driven part that never rests, or a part that is quietly terrified of falling behind.
Working with the whole of you
I draw on IFS to help you get to know these inner parts with curiosity rather than judgment, so you can work with them instead of being run by them. I also bring in CBT for practical, structured tools when you want them, psychodynamic work to explore the early patterns that shape your drive and your fear of failure, and AEDP interventions to help you process emotion in a way that feels safe, deepening, and transformative rather than just talked about. Humanistic and existential perspectives help us ask the bigger questions: what matters to you, what you want your work and life to mean, and who you are beyond your title. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers a concrete way to name needs, set boundaries, and have hard conversations — with colleagues, partners, or yourself — without slipping into blame.
A confidential place to think out loud
For leaders, therapy is one of the few places you can think out loud without worrying about politics, optics, or how your words will land with your team. For individual contributors, it's a place to step back from the grind and reconnect with what you actually want.
Work rarely stays at work
I pay attention to your relationships as well, as overwork, loneliness, and stress rarely stay at the office; we can address how these affect partners, family, and friendships too.
Issues and interventions
Burnout and overwork
Use IFS to understand the parts that drive relentless striving and the ones that are depleted, then build sustainable boundaries and rest.
Imposter syndrome and perfectionism
Combine CBT and parts work to soften the inner critic and separate self-worth from performance.
Anxiety, depression, and sleep
Skills-based CBT tools alongside AEDP's emotional processing to address both symptoms and underlying emotion.
Leadership stress and loneliness at the top
A confidential space to work through high-stakes decisions, hard conversations, and the weight of responsibility.
Career transitions, layoffs, and identity
Existential and humanistic exploration of meaning, grief, and purpose through promotions, exits, and pivots.
Relationships and early patterns
Psychodynamic and systemic work on how family-of-origin dynamics and current relationships fuel overwork and disconnection.
If you're tired of running on empty, or simply want a place to be honest about what's going on beneath the résumé, I'd be glad to talk.
